SECONDARY 4 AND 5 STUDENTS MUST EXTEND THEIR SCHOOL SMARTCARD (SSC) AT ANY TRANSITLINK TICKET OFFICE OR ADD VALUE MACHINE

SINGAPORE (30 October 2003) – From 1 November 2003 onwards, Secondary 4 and 5 students taking their 'O' and 'N' Level examinations this year are advised to present their School Smartcard at any Add Value Machine (AVM) or TransitLink Ticket Office to extend their SSC concession eligibility period to 21 January 2004.

Student concession travel eligibility for the above group of students will expire on 31 December 2003. By extending their School Smartcard, students can continue to enjoy travel concession when the new school term starts on 2 January 2004. Administrative coordination of school postings will still be on-going in the first week of the new school term. Hence, the grace period of 21 days will help ensure that eligible students enjoy travel concession until their school posting is confirmed.

Students may check the expiry date of their School Smartcards at any AVM and General Ticketing Machine (GTM).

For more information on concession extension, please refer to TransitLink's website at www.transitlink.com.sg or call TransitLink toll-free Hotline at 1800 767 4333.
