NOTICE: With effect from 1 December 2011, reserved lots will no longer be included in the Park and Ride (P&R) scheme.
What is it?
The Park & Ride (P&R) Card is part of the P&R set which allows motorists, who have parked their vehicles at designated P&R parking lots, to hop on a bus, the MRT or LRT to continue with their journey.
The P&R Card is encoded with $40 of travel value and is valid on public transportation like express bus services and other bus services from SBS Transit, SMRT and Bus-Plus, as well as on the MRT and LRT.
How do I use the P&R Card?
You simply use the P&R Card like you would with a standard concession card. Just tap and go.
However, once the $40 travel value encoded in the card has been fully used, you will be unable to top up the P&R Card until the next renewal. We advise P&R users to use an Adult Stored Value Card if they have fully used up their P&R Card.
Kindly do take note that you can only use your P&R Card for the calendar month that you have purchased it for. It cannot be used after the valid month and the travel value or its remainder is strictly NOT REFUNDABLE.

I'm still not very clear on how to use the P&R Card. Could you give me an example?
Sure! After purchasing your P&R card, you will see a value of $45 ($40 travel value and $5 deposit). The $40 travel value is the monthly available amount that you can use on bus, MRT and LRT. The $5 deposit (refundable) allows you to continue using the card when the travel value falls below the minimum value required for travel on bus and train. Basically, if the monthly usage exceeds $40, the excess will be deducted from the $5 deposit.
When you renew your card for the next calendar month, you only pay $40 plus any excess usage of the deposit from the previous month.
See below an example of P&R Card usage.

Is there anything else I should take note of about the card?
Normal adult fares are charged when using the P&R Card andcommuters will be eligible for a valid transfer between buses, MRT and the LRT, if transfer conditions are met.
If one of your trips causes the card to exceed the $40 travel value for the month, the excess will be deducted from the $5 travel deposit. Commuters are required to top up the excess amount used on their next renewal.
