In support of the growing trend of going cashless, Transit Link Pte Ltd has collaborated with the United Overseas Bank (UOB) to introduce an additional cashless top-up option at General Ticketing Machines (GTMs) to provide greater convenience to commuters.

Since 1 July 2016, commuters are able to use their Singapore-issued UOB Credit / Debit Cards (Visa / MasterCard / JCB), or via contactless mobile payment apps, to top up their CEPAS cards at GTMs, in addition to NETS.

Now, this service has been made available to all credit and debit card holders from any issuing banks. The GTMs island-wide will be ready to accept top-up payment via credit / debit cards, or via contactless mobile payment apps supported by respective issuing banks and mobile phone models.

Why is TransitLink promoting cashless payments in transit?

A growing number of consumers are finding it beneficial to go cashless as it removes the hassles of holding cash. Hence, we hope to extend the life-style behaviour of adopting cashless payment that the public is used to in the retail space to the transit space. This will work towards making the transit experience more convenient and seamless.
