Members of public will be able to exchange their Adult ez-link cards for new cards that are CEPAS-compliant in a free one-for-one card replacement exercise starting from 9 January 2009 to 30 September 2009. After September 2009, the old ez-link cards cannot be used for travel on public transit. However, cardholders may still get a refund on any remaining value in their old cards up to 12 years from the date the card is first encoded for use.
At the point of card exchange, any remaining value in their card will be transferred to the new card. Cardholders whose current ez-link card has a value of less than -$3.00 should top-up their cards before exchange. Please note that any ez-link card that has been exchanged, or refunded, will be retained.
Cardholders with auto top-up facility please note:
At the Ticket Office, your current card will be retained and the auto top-up facility on the card will be discontinued. The balance on your old card will be transferred to your new card or to your designated bank account, subject to the terms and conditions of the card. Cardholders who wish to continue using the auto top-up facility are advised to exchange their current card when these facilities for the new card are available.
