PRIMARY 6 REPEAT, SECONDARY 4 (INTEGRATED PROGRAMME), SECONDARY 4 AND 5 (GCE 'O' LEVELS), PROVISIONAL PRE-U AND NEW ITE STUDENTS MUST EXTEND THEIR SCHOOL SMARTCARDS TO CONTINUE ENJOYING TRAVEL CONCESSION

SINGAPORE (12 October 2007) – Primary 6 repeat, Secondary 4 (Integrated Programme), Secondary 4 and 5 (GCE 'O' levels), Provisional Pre-U and new ITE students must extend the validity of their concession ez-link cards (School Smartcards) during the scheduled periods of extension, in order to continue enjoying concessionary bus and train fares.

These students may extend the concession validity of their School Smartcards at any of the sales machines or service counters, namely Add Value Machine, General Ticketing Machine, TransitLink Ticket Office, Card Replacement Office and Passenger Service Centre located in MRT stations and bus interchanges within the following specific timeline:

  • Primary 6 repeat students

    Please extend School Smartcard between 29 December 2007 and 12 January 2008. The card will be valid for use till 31 December 2008.

  • All Secondary 4 (Integrated Programme) students in 2007

    School Smartcard will expire on 31 December 2007. Please extend card between now and 16 November 2007. The card will be valid for use till 31 December 2009.
     

  • Secondary 4 and 5 students taking GCE 'O' Levels in 2007

    School Smartcard will expire on 31 December 2007. Please extend card between 15 October 2007 and 14 December 2007. The card will be valid for use till 14 January 2008.

  • Provisional Pre-U students for 2008 intake

    For students subsequently posted to Provisional Pre-U at Junior College or Centralised Institute, please extend School Smartcard between 1 January 2008 and 14 January 2008. The card will be valid for use till 30 April 2008.

  • New ITE students

    Please extend School Smartcard between 15 January 2008 and 31 March 2008. The card will be valid for use till 31 March 2008. By then, the students would have received the new ITE ez-link cards.

Important notes:

  • Students whose School Smartcards are linked to GIRO or Auto Credit Card must also present their cards at the sales machines or service counters for extension of concession validity.

  • Students listed above who fail to extend their School Smartcards within the specific timeline are not entitled to refunds on bus and train rides taken and paid at non-concession rate.

The above group of students must extend their concession validity at any of the following sales machines or service counters:

  • Add Value Machines located in selected MRT stations, bus interchanges, bus stops and special locations. Simply place the School Smartcard on the card reader. The new validity date will be displayed and a receipt will be issued.

  • General Ticketing Machines located in MRT and LRT stations. Insert the School Smartcard into the ez-link card slot. Select "Check Card" to view the new validity date.

  • TransitLink Ticket Offices in selected MRT stations and bus interchanges

  • TransitLink Card Replacement Offices in Ang Mo Kio, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong East and Pasir Ris Bus Interchanges, and Tiong Bahru MRT Station.

  • Passenger Service Centres located in MRT stations
