SINGAPORE, 31 JULY 2013– TransitLink today officially launched the TransitLink Mobile Services app, a mobile application designed to benefit commuters in Singapore.  It will provide them with convenient access to TransitLink’s current suite of e-Services and e-Guide on their smartphones across the Google Android and Apple iOS platforms.

To reach out to tech-savvy commuters, TransitLink has formed its first partnership with smartphone provider HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, to preload the Mobile Services app on its HTC One and HTC Butterfly s models. The app will also be preloaded on other selected HTC smartphone models progressively.

“TransitLink’s Mobile Services app enhances the travel experience as it enables commuters equipped with smartphones to make smart commuting choices on-the-go with relevant and up-to-date information. In addition, potential and existing concession card holders will benefit from the easy application on this new mobile platform.

TransitLink is happy to partner with HTC to proactively extend the Mobile Services app to benefit HTC customers in Singapore, as we both share the same vision of value-adding to our customers’ experience,” said Corrine Ng, Vice President, Corporate and Marketing Communications, Transit Link Pte Ltd.

ABOUT MOBILE E-SERVICES

With the new mobile e-Services features, commuters can conveniently access a suite of key services, i.e. Customer Claim, Lost Concession Card Replacement, New Senior Citizen Concession Card Application as well as Lost Concession Card Enquiry.

Customer Claim

Using the Customer Claim function in the Mobile Services App, commuters can now submit their claims and request to have their refunds credited to their accounts in 16 GIRO-participating banks (See Annex A).  Alternatively, they can choose the option of having their refunds credited directly to their stored value card at any of TransitLink's 41 Ticket Offices (TOs) (See Annex B), 74 Add Value Machines Plus (AVM+) (See Annex C) and six Concession Card Replacement Offices (CCROs) (See Annex D) through their smartphones.

Lost Concession Card Replacement

The Lost Concession Card Replacement function offers the commuter the option of applying for a replacement card, from the convenience of his/her smartphone. The TransitLink Mobile Services app allows for ease of uploading a photo ID taken with the smartphone, documents, as well as hassle-free secured direct payment via eNETS.

The application will be processed and the replacement card will be mailed to the cardholder within 5 working days. This is an additional avenue for cardholders to apply for their concession cards. Currently, applicants can either submit their requests online, mail in their application forms or visit any of TransitLink’s CCROs (See Annex D).

New Senior Citizen Concession Card Application

Senior citizens have more reasons to celebrate when they turn sixty as they now have the choice of applying for their Senior Citizen Concession Cards through their smartphones with TransitLink’s Mobile Services app. The app allows for ease of uploading of documents and a photo taken with the smartphone.

This service will enable senior citizens to save a trip to the mailbox or TO to submit a completed application form.

Lost Concession Card Enquiry

Concession cardholders can now establish if their lost concession cards have been found by using the TransitLink Mobile Services app.  This will allow them to make an informed decision on whether to proceed with applying for a replacement concession card.  This feature allows cardholders to perform checks 24/7 on their smartphones.

ABOUT MOBILE E-GUIDE

This transport-centric app features a content-rich eGuide with valuable and useful information about public transport routes and options in Singapore.

There are 6 major modules, namely Bus, Bus Interchange, MRT / LRT Fares & Travel Times, MRT Station Map, Road and Place enquiry modules with SBST and SMRT integrated information. Users will be able to check estimated travel times, fares and arrival times from their smartphones.

In addition to the mobile e-Services and e-Guide, the app also comes with a Locate Us module which provides information on where CCROs, TOs and AVM+ are located. There is also a quick contact menu, allowing users to call TransitLink directly or send an email.

With the high penetration of mobile smart devices in Singapore, it is timely that the new TransitLink Mobile Services app is launched to enhance the experience of public transport commuters.
